what a lot of goddamn dumbasses don’t get about roleplay is that there’s NO WAY to frame your character’s actions in a larger narrative, because most threads generally do not have a big story to fit into and are self contained.  without the narrative to paint a clear picture of your character’s villainy, you writing them doing a bunch of awful and disgusting shit makes you out to be sicko too, because it’s YOU who empathizes enough to write your muse reveling in the awful stuff they do, which is presented as neutral by default, since there isn’t a clear story told in which they are the villain, they just are  —  irregardless of you not condoning their actions in your rules.  which, in turn, affects real actual people who suffered because of people like your muse because, again, ROLEPLAY IS NEUTRAL.

this isn’t a ‘don’t rp villains’ post btw in-case you have the reading comprehension of a half month old baby, by all means feel free, but roleplaying villains is all about restraintknowing where to draw the fucking line cause tumblr is a public platform used by millions of people.  if you’re muse is a goddamn rapist or a nazi or some other shit, you might want to not write their awful shitty actions in excruciating detail where people can see it, or AT ALL  —  EVER.

as an addendum to this post,  because i feel like some might see this point and think shit like the interfector is alrightEVEN if you have a narrative going on your blog, say an arc or an ongoing story between multiple muses/threads, the prose itself is neutral.  you describing your character’s awful, disgusting actions in detail, presenting it as through their warped perspective is most certainly NOT OKAY especially if you do it in every other thread, you just look like voyeuristic piece of shit who enjoys describing the awful shit you write.
